Avila Beach and Port San Luis Harbor is a unique area because it is naturally sheltered from the large ocean swells and strong winds that are common on the rest of the Central Coast. There are plenty of opportunities for experienced paddlers to be challenged, but also sheltered routes that are perfect for beginners and families with kids. Wildlife is abundant, the weather is sunny and warm, and there is even a public beach access for the Point San Luis Lighthouse.
Avila Beach Paddlesports is the first and to this day, the only paddlesports company located in Avila Beach. Over the last 10 years, Vince and Emily have worked hard to bring safe and exciting recreational paddling opportunities to the public. It takes a village to keep the public safe and wildlife protected, so Avila Bach Paddlesports works closely with federal and local wildlife agencies, Harbor Patrol, local paddlers, as well as the local fishing community to make sure their guests have the best experience. Over the years, Vince and Emily developed diagrams, maps, and sequenced instruction techniques to educate the public about suggested paddling routes, ocean and wind conditions, wildlife viewing, and more.
Avila Beach Paddlesports would not be anything without the awesome staff seasonal and year-round employees. Staff are typically Cal Poly or Cuesta College students who have a passion for people and a lifetime of ocean experience. The SuperCrew’s aim is to get you on and off the water in Avila Beach with a smile and memories that will last a lifetime.
