Chewalla Creek Marina was originally founded in 1983, Eufaula was booming, the fishing was great and the lake even received its nickname as “The Bass Fishing Capitol of the World”. Many legendary bass fishermen have launched their boats down the concrete boat ramps at the marina, names even as big as the great Tom Mann. Now, 35 years later, we are looking to once again make Lake Eufaula and Chewalla Creek Marina a hot spot on everyone’s map. Matt Headrick, the new owner of Chewalla Creek, is from LaGrange, GA where he owns a company by the name of GLL Marine which is a marine construction company and also a retail store featuring fishing tackle, kayaks, and many more outdoor accessories. Our plan for Chewalla Creek is to bring Eufaula, AL a store that is affordable and has something for the whole family. We are in the current process of building a new outdoor store on the property that will be the home to Lake Eufaula’s largest selection of fishing tackle, kayaking, watersports, and outdoor needs. At this current time, we have full time mechanics on site Monday through Saturday along with wet and dry boat storage options with boat slips ranging from 20’ to 40’ long. We also have on the water gas pumps for the convenience of our customers. Our estimated opening time for the new store is the fall of this year. The future plans for Chewalla Creek consists of the building of rental cabins, camp sites, a restaurant, and even a weigh-in stage for tournaments to be hosted. When you arrive at 580 Chewalla Rd. our plan is to provide you with top notch customer service and an excellent experience that will leave you agreeing that you have had “Just Another Day in Paradise”.
