Just right outside your door is the beautiful Clam lake with our private swimming area, pontoon rentals and boat docks. Just a mile and a half away is the famous Torch Lake, the most blue water in the state. Northaire Resort combines the magic of a remote getaway with the convenience of local marinas and restaurants. Come stay with us and you will understand why Clam Lake, and the Torch Lake sandbar, are considered Michigan's best kept secret. Northaire Resort was Built and Established in 1948 by Fred And Sophia Dewitt. Water is the backdrop of life in Bellaire, the county seat. Swimming, boating, fishing and beach-combing are summer activities that give way into the fall for color tours along some of Michigan's most scenic back roads. In the winter, snowmobile trails, sledding spots and Shanty Creek ski slopes provide plenty of fun. Golf swings into action in the spring as the area heats up again. The village of Bellaire's 1,200 residents also know how to throw a party. Annually in August, the town hosts a family festival with food, arts, crafts, parade and a rubber-ducky race on the Bellaire River.
